The Democrats have plenty of money, they're just sitting on it.

The Democrats have plenty of money, they are just sitting on it. It's too bad that about a hundred Democrats in contested U.S. House races will go down to defeat in this election because they are underfunded. Anyway, the following is the report published on Daily Kos:
"Unopposed House Democrats Sitting On $26,288,418

"(From the diaries. I'd be happy if they ponied up just half of that idle cash -- kos)
"Amidst all of this talk about taking out loans to fund key races and newly emerging races, not enough attention has been given to the huge amount of money House Democrats who are unopposed for re-election are currently storing away in their campaign bank accounts. I just did a quick tallying using Open Secrets, and calculated that the 45 Democrats who are not facing a Republican opponent this November have $26,288,418 in their campaign bank accounts as of September 30th, 2006. I put together a web page that details the cash on hand for each of the forty-five unopposed Democrats: . . ."
I guess most incumbents are not concerned about people outside their district.
