The War in Iraq.

The U.S. invasion of Iraq was a mistake. We should withdraw quickly from there.
The U.S. and allied invasion of Iraq was a mistake at the time, for several reasons. First, pre-emptive strikes at other nations had never been a part of our defense doctrine, is a bad doctrine, and leads to more war than our previous doctrine. Many have claimed that America is a Christian nation. Part of Christianity means “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” America would not want other nations attacking us, bombing us, or invading us; therefore, we should not make pre-emptive strikes at other nations by attacking them, bombing them, and invading them. The decision to attack, bomb, and invade Iraq was based on false intelligence: we were told that Iraq held weapons of mass destruction, but such weapons were never found, probably because Iraq did not have such weapons at the time we invaded them.
Now, we should withdraw all U.S. troops from Iraq quickly. The American invasion and continued military occupation of Iraq has cost over 4,000 American lives, at least tens of thousands of Iraqi lives, left Iraq divided along its religious and ethnic fault, strengthen the theocracy in Iran, made the U.S. a pariah in much of the Islamic world, and has cost the U.S. over five hundred nine billion dollars ($509,000,000,000). America should act in America’s own best interests and get out of Iraq.
